Lawyers from GM have reportedly renewed the brand’s CrossVolt trademark, sparking rumors that a new Chevrolet CrossVolt Hybrid crossover might be in the works, after initially being trademarked by the company in April of 2011.
Since the new 2016 Chevy Volt is scheduled to debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this month, many are speculating that Chevrolet might have plans to make the CrossVolt Hybrid into a heavily related vehicle.
This trademark decision has obviously inspired rumors all over the Internet, making it hard to remember that the trademark has been owned by Chevy for years. Just because it’s been renewed doesn’t technically mean it will be used. But there’s no reason not to hope, right?
