Check Out Chevrolet’s SEMA Show Lineup

One of the most exciting car shows of the year is the SEMA show in Las Vegas. SEMA, which stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association, is really an event to show off great after-market products for cars and gives automakers a chance to show off some wickedly awesome custom cars.

This year, Chevrolet will be bringing some performance-oriented concepts of the SS Sport, Sonic, Impala, and Cruze. The cars will officially debut at the SEMA show November 4-7, but Chevrolet was kind enough to give us a preview of its SEMA show lineup.

“Chevrolet’s 2015 passenger car lineup is one of the strongest and most competitive in the industry, offering customers a wide range of great-looking, great-driving and well-connected choices,” said Paul Edwards, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing, in a statement. “They’re personal cars, too, and these concepts suggest possibilities of how to amplify Chevrolet’s heritage of performance and fun-to-drive spirit to make them even more personal.”

Starting with the SS Sport, Chevrolet recognized its Australian lineage and gave the custom SS wheel caps and floor mats with the Holden logo. Next it gave it a Some Like It Red Hot coat of paint with body-color door handles and mirrors. A grille kit, fog lamp bezel, side fender vents, and a rear spoiler give an aggressive look. And, a final touch of stripes for the hood and deck lid take the SS to the next level.

Take a look at the rest of Chevrolet’s SEMA show lineup and tell us which model you like the best in the comments below.

General Motors Landfill-Free Facilities on the Rise

Global industries are in need of a little change to maintain some harmony with the world, and General Motors is taking big steps toward making production cleaner and safer for the environment.

A facility in Burton, Michigan has really made strides toward having a cleaner production line. This General Motors facility has earned the title of ‘landfill-free’. The Burton facility is one of 11 General Motors landfill-free facilities, though the number is on the rise.

Jim Deluca, the executive vice president of GM’s Global Manufacturing, said progress like this is all just a part of the culture of General Motors. GM is focused on continuous improvement worldwide. These steps toward change bring efficiency and resource conservation to sites, two aspects vital to the continuing survival in this industry.

By avoiding landfill use, facilities utilize the cost-effective process of recycling materials for production. When it comes down to it, recycling takes less energy and money than creating things from scratch. So, along with avoiding a build-up of refuse, GM’s saving money as well!

Nehls’ Chevrolet sees a lot more progress to come in General Motors’ ventures toward becoming cleaner, more efficient, and overall better producers. For more information on General Motors’ progressive facility innovations, check back with us every week!

Chevy Takes National Name Your Car Day to a Whole New Level

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 is pricey, but it's a beauty as well.
The Z/28 has been in the spotlight since last year when it made its entrance into the New York Auto Show.

It seems like there is a special day or month for every “holiday” you can imagine. One of our favorites is National Name Your Car Day (for obvious reasons), which was on October 2nd. This year, Chevy celebrated in style by announcing that fans would have the opportunity to name the brand’s 2015 Camaro SS special edition, which will take the SEMA stage by storm in January 2015.

Using #NameThatCamaro, you can submit your name suggestions for the Camaro on Chevy’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

“Chevrolet has made a tradition of offering special-edition models each spring, but this is the first time we’ve turned to the community of Camaro fans to name it,” said Todd Christensen, marketing manager for the Camaro. “We can’t think of a better way to involve the owners and enthusiasts who have made it the segment’s best-selling sports car for four years running.”

The special edition is painted a vibrant Emerald Green Metallic with Cyber Gray rally stripes, a body-color rear spoiler, and Chrome Dusk 21-inch accessory wheels. Its interior features black coloring with Graphite Silver accents.

What names does this special edition Camaro SS inspire? When you post your ideas on Chevy’s Twitter and Facebook pages, don’t forget to tell us at Nehls Chevrolet your favorites as well!

The 2015 Chevy Colorado Delivers Superior Performance and Efficiency

The new 2015 Chevy Colorado may just be the pickup truck of your dreams. It can do everything imaginable, from off-roading, hauling large loads, and providing a spacious interior that other small trucks can only fantasize about. With a smooth ride and excellent handling, the Colorado feels more like an SUV on the freeway, but delivers the power one would expect on rougher terrains.

Auto Blog reports the Colorado is “Outfitted with that optional automatic trans and two-wheel drive, the Colorado will deliver 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 on the highway (those figures drop to 19 city and 25 highway for 4WD models)” For any pickup truck these numbers are truly notable, considering it is a whole lot of vehicle to move around, especially when transporting items in the truck bed.

This mid-size truck is not only at the top of its class in terms of delivering both power and fuel efficiency, it also has a price tag starting just below $21,000 making the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado the clear choice as your next vehicle. Plan to get yours from us at Nehls Chevrolet!
