Chevrolet Vehicles to Offer 4G LTE this Summer

4G LTE available in Chevrolets, starting this summer.
Thanks to 4G LTE, you will be able to access online information at high speeds in the comfort of Chevy cars.

Can’t get enough of technology, even when you are out on the road?

Chevrolet announced this week that they will be offering 4G LTE in its cars. This summer, Chevy will start this service with the Corvette, Impala, Malibu and Volt.

By the time the automaker rolls out its 2015 lineup, most of its American and Canadian vehicle will offer the connection.

This comes with a range of benefits for car occupants who need access on the Internet through their wireless devices.

  • Each car will allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time
  • Each car will act as a mobile hub for easier access to apps and other services
  • Data connection speed will be quick due to collaboration between Chevrolet and AT&T

While the OnStar 4G LTE will come with an additional cost not yet known, the payoff will be worth it.

Fans can expect the Equinox, Silverado, Silverado Heavy Duty editions, Spark and Spark EV to follow the same pattern after the summer.

The Chevrolet Malibu Turns 50

The Chevrolet Malibu turns 50 years old this month.

Since the 1960s, much has changed. A gallon of gas has increased by more than 3 dollars, the cost of a movie theater ticket has jumped $7, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up nearly 14,000 points from where it closed out in 1964.

Like the real world, 50 years has brought much change to the Malibu as well. The now refined midsized sedan debuted in the 1960s as one of the first midsize cars in America, appealing to muscle car lovers and families.

While the 1964 Malibu featured a body-on-frame construction and rear-wheel drive, the 2014 model has a body-frame-integral design and is front-wheel drive. The below chart provides more detail of how far the Malibu has come.
