Making Safety a Priority on the 2015 Chevy Colorado

Chevy ColoradoWhile Chevy vehicles are some of the most rugged and dependable on the market, they are also some of the safest. Chevy recently announced that they will be fitting the Colorado with a new feature to accommodate for child-safety devices. At Nehls Chevrolet, we’re proud to partner with an inventive and responsible company like Chevy.

The 2015 Chevy Colorado Extended-Cab will combine the removable head rest with a rear passenger side seat cushion to allow for larger child-restraint and booster-seat options. Chevy said at least 80% of most safety devices will be supported by the new design.

The GM Foundation, alongside Safe Kids Worldwide, released a study illustrating that 9 out of 10 children transition out of the booster seat too soon before they reach the recommended height and weight of at least 57 inches and 80 pounds.

Julie Kleinert, global technical lead for child safety at GM said, “We know there’s a lot that goes into traveling with children, so we try to make the experience as safe and stress free as possible.”

The 2015 Chevy Colorado also offers rear door safety locks and optional shoulder belt comfort guides as additional safety options.
