Stock Colorado ZR2 Design Competes in Longest Off-Road Race in U.S. | Nehls Chevrolet | Marshall, TXChevrolet was recently represented by Hall Racing during America’s longest off-road race. Driving a stock Colorado ZR2, Hall Racing demonstrated the capability and prowess of the new off-road-tuned pickup. The race extended from Las Vegas to Reno, Nevada, covering a brutal desert landscape, plummeting cliffs, and rocky slopes.

The media experts at Chevrolet noted that the Colorado ZR2 was the only stock truck to compete in the race, which means it was the only truck without any special upgrades added after it left the production line. In total, only 204 of the 336 trucks who entered finished, and the Colorado ZR2 was able to complete the longest off-road race in the world in just over 18 hours.

“This truck is a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be,” said Chad Hall, the driver for Hall Racing. “I clobbered some things on the course that would’ve broken many of the vehicles we competed with in the past.”

The Colorado ZR2 design features some upgrades compared to the standard Colorado pickup. For instance, the ZR2 has wider front and rear tracks for stability, a suspension that’s been raised two inches for added clearance, rockers for climbing over stones and other obstacles, rear electronic differentials, and a Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV)™. There’s nothing quite like the Colorado ZR2. Test drive the Chevy Colorado today at Nehls Chevrolet.
