New Silverado Midnight Edition Ready for Chicago Auto Show

While it may be cliché to say, we’re going to say it anyway: black is back. Actually, it’s not like black really went away, but now it’s back in a new way—in the form of the new Silverado Midnight Edition, which will make its public debut at the Chicago Auto Show. However, it was actually already on display at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco, so you can check out some photos of its soft debut before it shows up in Chicago on February 14.

The truck starts as a black Silverado Z71 and adds all kinds of cool accents and features. It’s got black everything, from a black front grille all the way to black Chevrolet bowties on both the front and back. “The Midnight special edition, like our recently announced Custom Sport Silverado, lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory,” said Sandor Piszar, Silverado marketing director. “Customers can get a monochrome exterior, black alloy wheels and other uplevel touches, while maintaining all of the dependability Chevy trucks are famous for along with full factory warranty coverage.”

You can get the Silverado Midnight Edition as either a double-cap or crew-cab model. You’ll also get 18-inch wheels, Z71 badges on the doors, new lights, and even a spray-in bedliner. What more can you ask for from a great new special edition truck? There will be up to 5,000 of these special edition Silverado 1500s made this year, so come see us at Nehls Chevrolet to learn more.

Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition Makes Pickup Truly Sophisticated

Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition

Have you ever wanted a pickup truck, but couldn’t find one that was both capable and sophisticated? Well, search no more because Chevrolet recently introduced the Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition at the Detroit Auto Show, and it’s sure to fit all of your needs.

“The Custom Sport special edition was inspired by Chevy Custom Sport Trucks of the late 1960s,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director. “Those CST models added a touch of elegance to a great all-around truck, just like the Custom Sport package for the new Silverado.”

With the Custom Sport Edition package, the Silverado receives body-colored front and rear bumpers, a body-colored grille surround, and a chrome-accented black grille. New 20-inch chrome wheels increase the pickup’s sophisticated air, while chrome door handles and mirror caps, and chrome body-side moldings make a lasting impression.

Orders for the Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition will begin this month. Expect the package to add anywhere from $1,950 to $2,950 to your Silverado’s base price. For more information—or to order your own Custom Sport Edition—stop in to Nehls Chevrolet today!

Hook ‘Em: Chevy Goes to School

Feast your eyes on the new University of Texas Special Edition Silverado.
Making Texas proud as always is Chevrolet!

As the University of Texas begins another football season, the school and Chevrolet are teaming up to introduce a University of Texas Special Edition Silverado. This package adds the Sunset Metallic Orange paint that is the spitting image of the school’s burnt orange color, Longhorn Logos on the tailgate and bed sides, and a set of chrome steps. The package is available on the Silverado Double Cab in LT or LTZ trim and the Crew Cab in LTZ trim, with the Texas Edition.

Additional features and content on the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado UT Special Edition include:

  • 2WD or 4WD Double Cab LT or LTZ Trim with Texas Edition package configurations
  • LT – 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, body color mirror and door handles and Texas Edition badge
  • LTZ – 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome mirrors and door handles and Texas Edition badge
  • Spray-in bed liner

Chevrolet, The University of Texas, IMG College and the Texas Exes UT student alumni association announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement last year that designated Silverado as the Official Truck of the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Exe. Silverado is also the Official Truck of Bevo, the Texas Longhorns’ mascot.

The University of Texas Special Edition Silverado is currently only sold in Texas, but the University of Texas package will be available nationwide on the similar custom model starting in October. Make sure you stop in and see us at Nehls Chevrolet for all your Silverado needs, and maybe you can upgrade to the UT package.

All-Star Game MVP Mike Trout Chooses Corvette Stingray

All-Star Game MVP Mike Trout had an important decision to make this past Tuesday.

Following his performance in the American League’s victory over the National League, Trout received the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player award from Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig. It was now after the game, and Trout found himself with a choice between two Chevrolets.

He could either pick the North American Car of the Year, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51, or the North American Truck of the Year, the 2014 Silverado 1500. The choice was instantaneous.

When they came out and told me I’ve got a choice, I was pretty pumped,” Trout said at the postgame news conference. “I got my dad a truck a couple weeks ago, so I probably would have chosen a truck if I hadn’t done that. But you gotta go with the sports car.”

You too can walk away with a Corvette Stingray by visiting Nehls Chevrolet today right here in Marshall, TX!

Silverado Sees Massive Sales Improvement Due to V6 Engine

The EcoTec3 V6 engine is a nice addition to the Silverado 1500 and a profit for Chevrolet.
Chevy’s boost in sales was helped by the Silverado’s new EcoTec3 V6 engine.

The all-new 2014 Silverado has vastly improved the sales of the full-size pickup. In 2014, the Silverado currently holds a 20% share of the market, whereas the previous model only had 5% of the same market. At Nehls Chevrolet, we believe that the all-new EcoTec3 V6 engine is largely responsible for the uptick.

We’re not alone in this thought either. A recent Chevrolet press release listed five different reasons why the new engine is such an awesome addition to the new 2014 Silverado. However, we’ll just sum up the press release in a few short words: the 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 brings increased power and efficiency to an already awesome vehicle.

The new engine uses EcoTec technology to chug out class-leading torque—305 lb-ft—and 7,600 lbs of available towing. And it’s not short on speed, either. It revs up to 285 horsepower to go with that class-leading torque. And all that comes with 24 mpg highway and 18 mpg city, an awesome improvement in fuel economy in a typically stingy segment.

So come by Nehls and check out the awesome new engine—and the truck that it sits inside of—today!

Chevrolet Rolls Out Truck Month and Open House Event

Chevrolet will be giving discounts on many of its top models in March with the Truck Month and Open House Event going on.
It’s that time of year again. Chevrolet is doing Truck Month!

Chevrolet plans to expand their offers next month by running its Truck Month and Open House Event.

Starting this Saturday, Truck Month will run through March 31 and offer supplier pricing on light-duty and heavy-duty Silverado trucks from 2014.

This announcement follows February when General Motors had big offers going on for Presidents’ Day.

The promotion will be offered along with a Chevy Open House Event, which will also provide supplier pricing or less on all 2014 Chevy models except the Corvette Stingray and SS sports sedan.

According to reports sent out to dealers, GM calls the sale event an “unprecedented promotional assault.” The sale event’s tagline will be, “The price you see is the price you pay! Or less!”

An example from the report shows that the double cab Silverado 1500 All Star Edition, which usually goes for $37,520, will be listed at $30,828 after the March discount.

Will you see these discounts at our store? You betcha! Visit Nehls Chevrolet today!

Chevrolet Vehicles to Offer 4G LTE this Summer

4G LTE available in Chevrolets, starting this summer.
Thanks to 4G LTE, you will be able to access online information at high speeds in the comfort of Chevy cars.

Can’t get enough of technology, even when you are out on the road?

Chevrolet announced this week that they will be offering 4G LTE in its cars. This summer, Chevy will start this service with the Corvette, Impala, Malibu and Volt.

By the time the automaker rolls out its 2015 lineup, most of its American and Canadian vehicle will offer the connection.

This comes with a range of benefits for car occupants who need access on the Internet through their wireless devices.

  • Each car will allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time
  • Each car will act as a mobile hub for easier access to apps and other services
  • Data connection speed will be quick due to collaboration between Chevrolet and AT&T

While the OnStar 4G LTE will come with an additional cost not yet known, the payoff will be worth it.

Fans can expect the Equinox, Silverado, Silverado Heavy Duty editions, Spark and Spark EV to follow the same pattern after the summer.

Chevrolet Presents the 2015 Chevy Colorado at the LA Auto Show

The Chevrolet Silverado will have a another truck under its wing next fall.

Chevrolet is expanding its presence in the truck market with the updated addition of an old friend.

This week, Chevrolet introduced the 2015 Chevy Colorado at the LA Auto Show. The midsize truck joins a lineup that already includes the Silverado 1500 and Heavy Duty trucks.

Available in 2WD and FWD, The Colorado will come in a crew cab with a five or six foot bed and an extended cab and six foot bed.

Standard with the Colorado is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which is equipped with direct fuel injection, generating 193 horsepower and 184 1b-ft of torque.

The Colorado will be out next fall and is expected to get a 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine as a feature, which will make it the only midsize pickup truck to offer such power.

While you wait, have a look around our Silverado inventory. Nehls Chevrolet can’t wait for the Colorado to reenter today’s market.

Chevrolet Plans Apocalypse with Black Ops Silverado

Chevrolet Silverado Black Ops
Chevrolet plans for Apocalypse with Silverado Black Ops.

You’ve seen the movies, TV shows and video games. Zombies are on the loose, the world is coming to an end, and anarchy is sweeping across the planet in the form of gunfire and explosions.

Keeping this in mind, Chevrolet has taken the 2014 Silverado Crew Cab 4×4 and redesigned it for Judgment Day, assuming that gas stations will still exist.

The Black Ops Silverado concept is set to debut at the SEMA aftermarket parts show in Las Vegas in early November.

Chevrolet Design Manager Dave Ross calls this more intimidating, darker model “a survival kit on four wheels.” The truck features body armor and a bed-constructed Truck Vault storage area that holds a solar power pack, two gas masks, gloves, military first-aid kit, a folding shovel and a rope.

The back also includes a fuel can, water tank and a crate stocked with food. Twinkies anyone?

Inside the cabin, a world-ending disaster could escape your train of thought due to luxurious, custom-trimmed black seats with yellow piping and a MyLink system for uploading songs from smartphones. In a world catastrophe, a pre-loaded flash drive might be your only option though.
